If you are pretty seriously into Sci-fi, you will enjoy this PDF. The preliminary pages are in Czech, but the body of this Bachelor's thesis is in English.

I was herein introduced to the term handwavium, which I found quite amusing. It's probably old hat to serious fans of the genre?
