Author notes article is not consistent, since text says Macbooks are left of left while MBP 14 is right of left while picture depicts left of left.

But picture is disclaimered:

"These examples show the DFU port on several Mac models. The location on your Mac model might differ. Consult the table above for details."

Then it shows the standard, not the exception.
