Hey Solana Community!
I have a startup that lets people build their stores without needing plugins; our storefront is open-source like WooCommerce, but all operations are hosted on our cloud (GCP). we support many payment integrations, including a dedicated Stripe integration - you can find us in their website. However, many users have asked for crypto payment options, so i tried integrating Coinbase and other crypto payments, but due to strict regulations and some unreliable practices, it’s been unstable—similar to what happened between Shopify and Coinbase.
so...i’ve just integrated Solana payments into my ecommerce startup (Selldone) and had to share it here! now, anyone can accept SOL payments by just entering their wallet address – no complicated setups or extra tools needed.
How does it work? The system creates temporary wallets for each transaction, so there's no need for Memo fields or specific nonce amounts.; why did we choose this?
1. Scalability: temporary wallets prevent conflicts with multiple transactions. Using Memo or nonce-based methods can get messy when handling thousands of payments at once - we used in BTC payments like adding 0.0000000123 at the end of the amount.
2. Flexibility: virtual wallets make it easy to automate refunds, partial payments, and commission splits without manual tracking.
3. User Experience: for buyers, it’s as simple as sending SOL to a standard wallet address. No extra fields to fill out, reducing the chance of mistakes - just need scan generated QR code (with standard payment format to fill address + amount + label).
Why Solana? It's fast, affordable, and I think it's ideal for global commerce. This integration helps businesses move into web3 payments smoothly. It’s not just for crypto enthusiasts anymore – it’s about real-world use.
TLDR; to be honest, i'm trying to get exposure for my startup by entering spaces other companies avoid because they're too risky. while giants like shopify spend billions on marketing, i'm taking a different approach.
what do you think? does this approach fit well with the Solana ecosystem? Let’s discuss!
