You write a letter to a stranger and sign it with a drawing. You don't know who is going to read it, only that they'll have absolutely no way of knowing who you are.
Once your letter is sent, you receive a letter from someone else. You can read it and immediately destroy it. Or you can resend it, putting it back in the pool to be read by others. A letter's survival depends on everyone who receives it choosing to resend it. If a single person chooses to destroy it, it's gone forever.
It's a bit like a message in a bottle for the internet.
I built this site using SvelteKit (front/backend) and Neon (database). Messages are moderated both automatically and by hand before being seen by anyone else; I really don't want anything that might deanonymize the writer, not to mention spam and other badness. I'm not interested in moralizing — people are weird and can be weird on letter.tube — but I want it to stay fun.
