The main point is having LOCAL systems (not-OEM controlled), which is a problem since 99% of the people, electricians included, have not enough IT skills to configure a fully local system even if some are available commercially...
The secondary point is using p.v. for self-consumption with a bit of storage instead of injected to the grid in the absence, and substantial technical impossibility, of a national smart-grid.
Unfortunately giants do not want people who own, so do their best to be against self-consumption and storage, even pretend to meter the self-consumed energy and tax them. If the current pro-giants evolutionary moves against civil society interest do not end we will end in disasters and civil wars, and no, it's not an exaggeration.
