I created a saas to declare investment taxes for retail investors without the hassle of dealing with standard processes.
I would like to increase its reach through social sharing and investment analytics given that I already import user transactions for tax calculation purposes.
Here's the new feature idea: the dashboard shows you every info about your portfolio, from average yield, composition, tax preview, win rate, AVG. Gain /loss, brief description of your style, how good you are comparing to other users (without sharing others' data!), etc... Then you should be allowed to share qualitative info on your social medias like this "User X is a bearish investor and he invests in a style similar to Warren Buffet. How do you invest? Find out about these and many other useful metrics to track your progress as an investor clicking here". If it is to personal I am considering even a blander message like, "Hey, I started monitoring my investment metrics with saas X. Click here to..."
I cannot publish "User X is better than X% of investors" unless I have solid controls on data input and making sure users cannot edit the social media snippets, so I won't do it for now since I don't want to favour scammers (even though the appeal would be wider). However all this data will still be available on the user's dashboard privately.
Currently I am considering to offer this data analytics/assessment feature to the community for free if they share (you can delete immediately right after), given that I plan to monetize with tax calculation and certification services.
What do you think about this feature? Would you use it (I mean both the dashboard and/or the social sharing)? Why? Why not? Any ideas on how to improve it prior to starting programming?
Is it outright useless?
