Hello, I'm Evan! I'm a recent Waterloo CS + pure math grad. I have a lot of expertise in C++ (like, standard-reading, type-checker-writing expertise), but I'm very capable with other strongly-typed languages like Rust, as well as web technologies and functional-first languages. I'm interested in roles in the spheres of front-end/full-stack/UI/UX, graphics/game development, programming languages/compilers, or any mix of those.
For the past few years I've led a Portal-adjacent video game project (see my resume!) with a team of over 20 really talented volunteers (super interdisciplinary; I've worn a lot of different hats in this role). I also have experience on the technical side of graphics: last year I wrote my own metallic/roughness PBR software renderer :) Finally, I've designed and built a few websites, all with different tech stacks but all with an emphasis on tightness and punchiness (right now I'm deep into a project I'd love to talk about more!).
I have a strong emphasis on quality; I love to make really polished things that feel good to use and have a lot of love baked in. If that's the sort of thing you're into, please reach out! I'm a fast learner and I'll happily pick up anything new.
