The Unbearable Poopness of Bookstores (2022) (mcgill.ca)

This has affected me my whole life. It doesn't matter which bookstore or the type of books it specializes in as long as I'm interested. My earliest memories of this phenomena are at comic shops as a kid. I noticed it in record stores in my 20s too. For me it's the anticipation of finding something new and the fear of missing it.

I totally get this every time I got barnes and noble, I assumed it's because I usually end up there after having dinner out, but honestly it's super consistent that I'll walk in there and within a few have to head towards the bathroom.
