Why supermarket tomatoes tend to taste bland
Just to 'ruin the fun' for you (and anyone else inspired by you), the leaves of tomatoes contain cyanide. Same with potato leaves.

Really? I thought it was an alkaloid (solanine) similar to other members of the nightshade family.

You're correct, it's solanine, not cyanide.
