We can synthesise these wares at higher purity than natural quartz [1]. It's more complicated than just purity [2]. But it's not like if Spruce Springs becomes inaccessible we can never make solar panels or semiconductors again. (I'm also pretty sure China can make its own fuzed-quartz crucibles [3].)
