Hey HN,

I built this to scratch an itch I had around what can be done solely using the URL.

It's very minimal with no storage involved, and your files can even be encrypted. The only caveat is some platforms wont allow you to post long links. I thought about using a URL shortener, but storing and mapping URLs kind of defeats the purpose.

However most browsers do allow you to open them once you have them. For instance I was able to "share" a 10MB file using safari, however 350KB seems to be the max for Chrome.

I use wormhole.app along with the wormhole CLI for this all the time. I like your styling better tho.

Thanks I appreciate it, to be fair wormhole is probably a more legitimate implementation for something like this. I just wanted to push the limits of what could be stored in the URL.

I do want to point out that with wormhole your content mostly like is stored somewhere.

If you use 64.surf and don't shorten the URL the data is only in the url bar, sadly I run into the same issue when shortening the URL.

that's so cool, I've really been enjoying using the URL as a state/storage manager. I've been playing around with it a bit whenever I get some time.
