It would have been more practical without the fan and all those on-board components, but I guess then it would be difficult to tell that it's an outdated GPU.
There is actually a market for these things if you search for "recycled circuitboard notebook" or "recycled circuitboard keychain", for example. I have one of those keychains, the circuitboard pattern is kind of neat to look at, and the PCB material makes it kind of durable.
