Facebook, Google, Microsoft, they all do it. But they're noy Chinese. Don't mistake me, I'm not advocating for TikTok or Tencent, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy and wish they woukd do the same with the predators on their side of the economic war.


Meta is also being sued [1].

This is also what’s animating e.g. COPPA 2 [2], though I’m personally not thrilled with that.

Don't forget Amazon. Amazon lost a lawsuit in 2022/2023, to which executives & high-level managers replied "it's the cost of doing business" and shrugged it off. Unless there are meaningful penalties, user privacy will continue to be violated.

We need reform ASAP.


Could be that Tencent does not pay enough lobby money.
