Bill Ackman Raised No Money (bloomberg.com)

I found this article to be really confusing and convoluted. It sounds like Bill Ackman tried to raise a fund and wasn't able to get it fully subscribed so the deal fell apart?

I used to love Matt Levine's break-it-down style for taking a complex topic and explaining each component so it makes sense. Here (and several of his articles recently) it has read more like a parody of Matt Levine's style. Or maybe he's using chat gpt to write the article?

I think you're getting spoiled with Matt Levine. If he retires, we won't have another Matt Levine for some time, and there's a good chance you'll miss him.

Anyway, I found this article extremely well done. First he showed that it was basically an impossibility for Bill Ackman to get this deal done. Then he finished the section, and started another one, and, surprise-surprise, someone actually did exactly that deal. Some type of magician's performance, where you see that a hat has nothing in it, yet a rabbit comes out somehow.

For some reason, I haven't read Matt Levine in maybe a year. This is the first Levine piece I read recently, and, man, what a treat it was.

i thought it was great and clear - as a tech founder interested in investor shenanigans. These financial frauds (imo) are complex

I love Matt Levine, anyone read any other finance journalists/bloggers/etc. that come close?

None. Did you know know he now has a podcast as well? It’s a great Friday listen.

I've been a bit disappointed by the podcast. I read the newsletter daily, and the podcast often feels redundant to things previously covered in the newsletter during the week.

My experience as well. The podcast is good but if you read the newsletter it's almost entirely redundent. Plus the large amount of ads is pretty annoying.
