One of the things that is really putting me off twitter (now called X) is the whole "blue checkmarks get bumped to the top of the replies" deal.
It is so annoying to see a somewhat interesting post, and wanting to see what people are saying about it for that to just be people trying to farm engagement on a popular post. It's actually become difficult to see any kind of interesting discussion on any popular post.
This change was a huge mistake. I get it he wants people to have a real incentive to buy blue checks, but the social cost associated with it is way too high.
You also can't use the product without signing up / agreeing to his terms / boosting his MAU.
It's kind of a given that your growth will stagnate once everyone willing to succumb to that has signed up. I don't bother clicking links anymore because I can't see the content.
