Google is working on Recall-like feature for Chromebooks (pcworld.com)

Fully expected this, I'm prepared for "Recall" AI surveillance to be pushed onto every proprietary operating system in the next couple of years. First as an opt-in, then an opt-out, and finally made mandatory and only possible to disable via some kind of config/registry hacks. Every major power broker wants Recall to be the norm - the government for mass surveillance, bosses to spy on their employees/"measure productivity" and Tech CEOs to sell your usage habits and target more ads at users. Recall is a nakedly user-hostile feature that only benefits the most powerful people in the world, which is why we'll be seeing it everywhere very soon.
