1+1 can also equal 0, in modular arithmetic. But I don't teach students that. At least not until they understand the context.

Yep, you can redefine concepts in math. It's not really a debate. The video was just a blunder. But I think so is the title to the article and this submission. Get rid of the +infinity.

Strange. The equal sign is already loaded. It can can be used to indicate equality, proportionality, identity and to make definitions.
