Ye gods, why? I get that it raises capital for the charitable Raspberry Pi Foundation but that's at the cost of putting control of the Raspberry Pi Ltd business into the hands of shareholders. Having £500 million isn't much use without somebody to fabricate your branded hardware to achieve your charitable goals.
