Why people take some commercials seriously and others just watch?

Recent apple ad vs any other interesting commercial? All adds are all fiction but why some people feel the need to take an ad seriously?

Apple is popular, so complaining about anything they do is an easy way to get attention online.

A certain portion of the population makes hating Apple into a hobby, and try to see everything they do in the worst possible light.

Some people are bored and having nothing better to do than complain about things that aren't worth complaining about.

At this point, there have been numerous articles and long tendentious threads about the Apple ad, with people explaining at length why they had a problem with it.

If, even given all that, you still can't grasp why anyone would have any kind of negative emotional attachment to a form of fiction, or would interpret it beyond the explicitly literal sense of being an advertisement for a product - and history suggests many people on HN can't (or being Apple fans, won't) - then don't worry about it.

Some people are just stupid or love making troubles out of thin air, the only difference now is that they have a media to channel and amplify their silliness.

I saw the one where Apple crush a room of people’s hobbies in a vice and thought “yeah thats like the ad where they said a cigarette is your best friend… that can’t be a good ad”.

I mean the thing in the vice is pretty much containing everything middle class parents do with their kids!

Everyone is different
