Show HN: I've build a shopping list app that's dyslectic proof – No account (apps.apple.com)

I'm one of the many persons with dyslexia. This doesn't help me with filling in shopping lists. So I build an app, Bleep List, that lets you scan your products/items to add to your shopping list.

How it works? With the app you scan the barcode of a product. The barcode is checked locally if it's already connected to an item on the selected shopping list. If not, the barcode is send to OpenFoodFacts.org API to retrieve information about the product like the name. Now you can simply fill in the amount and hit save.

It's also possible to add multiple items/barcodes to one item on the list. This is especially handy when you don't buy the same brand every time.

Sadly for now not all food products are in the API. You can of course add everything by hand in the app. Or support the OpenFoodFacts project by adding the product there.

Updating the list can also be easily done by scanning barcodes. To help you the app can also prevent the screen from turning off when the app is openend on the screen.

The app supports multiple lists and sharing lists with other users. Sharing the list can simply be done by hitting the share button on the list edit screen.

For the app is no account needed. The app makes use of iCloud and iCloud sharing. Meaning the data is stored in a private iCloud container.

Bleep List is available for free in the App Store. Some features like sharing lists are part of Bleep List Premium.
