I went to a conference focused on self driving cars back in 2019 - even back then, the best talk was from some professor in Florid, who's main point was that you probably don't have an alligator crossing the road in your training data. The point being, you really, really, actually do need nearly an AGI to drive safely. The entire world is out there!
