I'm curious to know that from you. Personally, it's Visual Studio Code, with it big variety of extensions and languages supported.

but in the spirit of your question, JetBrains all the way for IDE, and I'm bi-editor vim and emacs although I mostly use gvim for log viewing and such

I preferred not to do a survey because I think there are too many IDEs and choices to put between 4 answers and then it leaves people the opportunity to argue and talk about their answer. The goal was not to keep score for each IDE/text-editor but just to see what people personally use and for which language.

Otherwise I also like JetBrains but it is very heavy and slow sometimes (on my computer), and then I also like using vim or micro.

Thank you for introducing me to this.

IDE: IntelliJ. I love the various JetBrains products and can’t imagine giving them up.

Basic text editor: BBEdit. Simple, clean, FAST, plenty of feature if you need them.

Currently vim, but I’m very excited about Zed.

Too bad I'm on Windows.

I have succeed in learning Vim language so my favorite is vim with as close to default setup as possible.

I used to like QtCreator for cpp. now I do everything in vscode.

PyCharm for Python projects. Sublime Text for everything else.
