Why the equivocation? Is there a new player on the block?


I think it is just a "marketing" statement, if Apple has pushed the idea that App Store keeps them safe, and don't have to worry (which is not true), then warning people about security issues could have made people do 2+2

Probably they're keeping their users in ignorance to keep selling them iStores, but to inform them just enough so that security issues they can't hide aren't attributed to their incapacity


What do you suppose one should do if one received such a warning?


Turn on Lockdown mode. I have had that turned on for my iPhone since it was first available and it is not really that much of an inconvenience. I think the only time I notice is when someone tries to share a photo album with me on family trips.
