New York City debated a similar proposal in 2018, but didn’t adopt it.


The concept of salaried employees needs to be outlawed and employers required to pay employees for every minute they work. Being salaried is just a way for employers to avoid paying employees for their time.


You don’t need the government’s permission to ignore your boss after hours.


True 100% but you might need the government to cover your back to prevent retaliation.


If your boss retaliates then you need a new boss. Fire that one and get another; most aren't that petty. You don't need a special law for this; unemployment benefits already exist for people who get fired without cause.


You and I apparently enjoy a level of job security that many do not.
