Given the detrimental health impacts of heat, I think governments should establish a "right to cool," similar to the right to drinking water. Humans have adapted to their environments so this may not have been necessary in the past, but as climate change occurs, those environments may get warmer faster than people can adapt, and we may see large numbers of deaths and illnesses unless we do something.

I hate this situation so much, you don't just get heat stroke and die before your body yells at you. Even the most head-empty animals avoid dying of heat stroke. The common thread for workers and football players is some 3rd party, boss and coach, forcing people to push past the symptoms until they do real damage.

Like god fucking damn it this is so easily preventable by just listening to people when they say they're overheated, too tired, or can't breathe. High school sports have got to be some of the worst offenders with coaches who aren't trained enough to recognize the signs of pushing people too hard along with the power trip of being the adult authority figure.

Maybe don't push through the pain and exhaustion, maybe stop when it hurts and come back tomorrow and see if you make it further. The number of people I know who hate running and cardio because no one told them it wasn't supposed to hurt and you build up to that is too damn high.

I like how the concept that third world workers that are exploited by greedy capitalists to undercut native labor are being treated unfairly and exploited is presented as novel.

That's literally why they're there in the first place.

Florida is another term for Satan's Arsehole.
