I had one of these TVs for a while. I plugged it in once, via ethernet, to get any initial updates, and immediately unplugged it.
The power button on the corner of the screen then would not stop flashing and the only way to make it stop was to connect it to the internet. A strip of gaffers tape solved that problem.
These TVs are the poster child for user hostile, data mining, invasive advertising consumer tech.
Nothing a little foil and insulating tape can’t fix. I imagine the end game is to try to hide the cell modem and antenna as well as possible. I would not put it past Roku.
Mhhm, there are a lot of people with that mentality who think it's fair to force people to agree to signing away their legal rights to use the device they bought years ago.
