The API is really expensive, but even the app is priced more than it's worth it.
At $20 you don't get:
- code interpreter
- custom instructions (system prompt)
- plugins
- internet browsing
- ability to create your custom GPT/bot
- iOS app
- voice input and output
Some of the stuff you mention is fairly irrelevant such as system prompt and perhaps gpt’s as the larger context window can allow you to do this, plus you can upload it pdf’s with instructions.
They are getting rid of plugins so this is irrelevant too.
iOS app is not needed as it is available on the web.
The rest is just standard market forces and personal choice, does a better LLM add more value to you than voice? If you use that function then maybe but a lot of people don’t.
To me Claude 3 free is excellent so I don’t have have to sub to ChatGPT+
It’s just personal choice, pros and cons to both, but Claude is competitive because it’s better, it has less bells and whistles but its core functionality is stronger, just a matter of what is important to you.
