I have been working on an Artificial Intelligence side project, building everything from scratch during my free time on weekends, and I would like to share it here.
Lately I have been studying French and many times I get frustrated with Google Translate and Duolingo because of translations out of context or that lose their essence.
Then the idea came to me to create Langy, a translator based on AI. He not only speaks languages, but understands them. Using AI, Langy can analyze, make suggestions, make grammatical and contextual corrections, and even explain the points corrected.
The road to this final MVP was quite tough. The real challenge was in improving the translations and explanations. Countless hours have been dedicated to fine-tuning the AI, involving understanding the user's primary language and providing explanations that make sense.
For now it's just for iOS, but soon there will be a version for Android and Web.
