Recently got an M3 Max MBP which gave me severe eyestrain after less than an hour of use. Turns out the major cause for that was temporal dithering at the GPU level. I built Stillcolor to disable temporal dithering from user space, which helped massively reduce eyestrain with little to no degradation in image quality.
Thank you so much, aiaf. I recently purchased a MacBook Pro and have been experiencing some crazy eye strain. I've been testing this app for the past three days, and so far, it seems to have removed all my issues.
You're welcome but frankly I shouldn't do this nor should any one besides Apple. Apple has failed the community of PWM and temporal dithering sensitive individuals for almost a decade now, and hopefully this project can raise awareness and become additional proof against these technologies.
