Show HN: Wake Up to Friends' Real-Time Voices with Moneep, the Social Alarm App (medium.com/moneep.com)

Hello there!

I'm Ryosuke, the developer behind moneep.

I've always felt deeply dissatisfied with waking up to alarms every morning. Especially when waking up alone, it can be quite lonely and demotivating.

That's why I created a streaming platform where instead of alarms, you can wake up to the real-time voices of your friends.

By tuning into live streams hosted by your friends, you can feel like you're right there with them, sharing laughter and starting your day on a positive note.

Whether you're someone who struggles to get out of bed in the morning or just looking for a fun way to kickstart your day, moneep has something for everyone.

The moneep app is available for both iOS and Android.

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

This is an interseting idea, but the language is weird... "wake up to a livestream hosted by your friends" -- who the heck wants to "host a livestream" when they're barely awake? My friend are not social media influencers or twitch streamers. Most people are going to feel awkward enough about doing this without making it sound like they're going to be broadcasting to the internet.

Focus on the privacy aspects, make it clear people will only be talking to their friends and emphasis the controls they have to make sure they won't be suddenly on air with some rando they don't know.

> who the heck wants to "host a livestream" when they're barely awake?

Morning people I would assume. It's a point of pride among them.

I love this idea so much and this male dominant crowd is going to underestimate how much women will be into this. My girlfriend and I have tried to leave a phone call on all night just so that we could wake up together when we are apart. I’m looking forward to trying this app with her.

Thats the creepiest thing Ive heard in 2024.

whats wrong with a simple message or phone call in the morning ?

They are clearly extremely young and in new relationship.

It’s certainly a novel idea and more power to ya on the success of it. But speaking personally the last thing that my friends would want to hear in the morning is the sounds that emanate from my body. I also really don’t want to hear theirs either.

Neat; will be interesting to see what people end up using.

The "influencers" angle could be odd. In the past, people with radio alarm clocks might wake to wisecracking DJs, and software can facilitate something akin to that. But, for the right money, you can also wake to some OnlyFans-type personality saying an affectionate-sounding "Wake up, sleepyhead." only to you. (Related tech: Workflow management system to help said personalities juggle all their imaginary-SO wakeup engagements.)

Sounds like something I would've tried when I was single.
