Is Iceland entering a new volcanic era? (bbc.co.uk)

Potentially very dangerous for people and existing infrastructure but it makes me wonder if some of that excess energy can be put into productive use. Apparently lots of crypto operations have located in Iceland because energy is so inexpensive. That's not really my idea of productive use but other uses could be possible. More industrial capacity? Would it be worth the risk of getting destroyed by volcanic activity? Certainly is going to be interesting times for Iceland (and possibly the world if ash clouds become frequent).

What is a high value cargo that could be placed into standard shipping containers, and then be offloaded in Iceland to be subjected to heat for an arbitrary amount of time, before being sent onward to its final destination ?
