Weird framing she wasn't accused of anything but rather volunteered the fact. I think the controversy is somewhat overblown here; collaboration and collage aren't unusual in Japanese arts. Look at manga, where a lot of backgrounds/props are literally pasted in rather than drawn from scratch.
