Even if it didn't get better. PyPy with the JIT enabled is over 5 times faster the CPython. PyPy with JIT and STM enabled might be the same speed as CPython but with the advantage of being able to use multiple cores.

It's 5 times slower than the PyPy interpreter, which is probably slower than CPython.
