Quora cookie settings: We and our 128 partners store and/or access information

When you go to a Quora page you have to accept their cookies policy but today I was astonished by what I was reading:

We Care About Your Privacy (lol)

We and our 128 partners store and/or access information on a device, such as unique IDs in cookies to process personal data. You may accept or manage your choices by clicking below or at any time in the privacy policy page. These choices will be signaled to our partners and will not affect browsing data.

And when we go to the settings it's even worse:

Use precise geolocation data: 42 partners can use this purpose

Deliver and present advertising and content: 76 partners can use this purpose

And so on...

I know there's already a lot of discussion saying Quora is bad, but I couldn't believe it was at this point!

Only 128 partners?

A site about aviation incidents and accidents has introduced a new cookie banner recently. There it says 1512 partners.

Actually I wondered whether there can be so many surveillance capitalists. Wasn't it so that Google and Facebook absolutely dominate that shitty market? Is there a living for so many others?

I remember when micropayments for sites or individual pages were deemed too expensive to implement due to the cost and complexity of splitting access into tiny pieces and tracking them. Yet here we are with sites sharing their users with hundreds of other companies.

Because being spied on is for "free", but micro payment is still payment. Add least on the surface.

If you think that consumers pay all the ad serving, with >99% of the resources wasted because users ignore the ads, in the end we are paying more at the moment and we have the annoyance.

"Partners" includes anyone who buys that data, not just other data brokers.

If I could permanently ban them from Google search I would

Install uBlockOrigin and create custom content blocking rules with https://letsblock.it/filters/search-results

That include POE
