Would conjecture it's because numbers are 'well' defined. Start from the top, word way down to the bottom/solution.
If take the boolean of whole numbers, than get a hole to escape the number loop. Being very careful to stay on track and not be off by 1.
So, yeah, if are a really die hard fan of Lewis Carrol's 'Through the looking glass' then there's no possiblity of time with quadroons. aka permanently stuck with no progression/movement. (assuming quadroon plane doesn't warp one's perspective.)
