Why are the graphs using the 1991-2020 average temperature as baseline?
Surely that really downplays the true size of the problem as those temperatures were already increased above the pre-Industrial level by climate change.
Yeah, not particularly surprising, but also not good.
What's striking to me is the second half of the graph, where we seem to quite abruptly go from being "among the warmest years, but not exceptional" to "way above anything previously recorded".
