Yes. We already have laws for fraud. Calling yourself doctor is one thing, holding yourself out as a licensed medical professional is another.

And if a non licensed medical professional told people they were a doctor for political capital, should that be allowed? I have an engineering degree but I don't claim to be an engineer, that's a protected term in Canada.

Anyone with any doctorate can call themselves Dr X. Even in healthcare.

The question to ask is, are you a physician? That is a legally protected term.
