So, for context, I'm a young entrepreneur grappling with the challenges of refining my travel planning app and getting some first users. My initial assumptions about potential users fell flat due to not niching down enough, and I made the cardinal sin of not building a great first base of users to get a feedback loop going. I finished reading “The Mom Test” and did all the wrong things first. Build a product expecting people to come without real talks with lead users or a feedback loop for product feedback. Marketing barely exists too...
However, I'm determined to fix this by connecting with travelers facing real trip-planning issues. I aim to narrow down customer segmentation and determine where they align with my value proposition.
I could really use some advice from the HackerNews community. Where can I find travelers willing to discuss their trip-planning struggles? Cold DMs in Facebook groups haven't yielded much (maybe I’m doing them wrong?), so I'm on the lookout for more receptive spaces and ideas on talking to the right people.
Your suggestions could be a game-changer for me. Looking forward to your insights and would be grateful for the help!
