Oh it's the guy from special.fish and html.energy. I love everything he's up to.

Are there others?

More from his site, but I think several of these are 404s now: https://hn.algolia.com/?query=elliot.computer

I am not sure this concept makes any sense. It sort of reminds me of the time when I had to explain several times to my first gf that she has no need to delete stuff, because the harddrive in her PC would store 1000x her current INBOX without any issues. Her carrying the "cleanup" behaviour from the real world over to the digital world was such a problem that we (I) ended up installing HD-Guard to prevent her from wrecking the system constantly. If I learnt anything from that experience, deleting in the digital world is not the same as cleaning up in the real world.

That is so lovely. A union of the physical and digital worlds. Beautiful :.)

I've always found the idea of collecting a bunch of dead ends and tying them together to be beautiful.

The project vaguely reminds me of PostSecret[1].

I found the PostSecret book in a common area while I was in college. I had never heard of PostSecret beforehand.

I read through, and for some reason was compelled to anonymously inscribe it with my own "secret." I left the book, now containing my deepest darkest fear, for someone else to discover.

At the time I was struggling emotionally and this process was incredibly cathartic. I felt lighter by an order of magnitude.

I learned a lot that day about the power of getting things off my chest and cutting myself slack. Those "simple" lessons have served me nearly daily in the decade+ since.

Great read!
