So much attention has been given to nebulous concepts like AGI and alignment, meanwhile I’m sure if Nick Bostrom or Stuart Russell were being denied loans, apartments, college admission or surgeries they would understand that the problem isn’t in identifying or codifying human values, it’s that there are multiple competing and mutually incompatible human values (For example: I want my money but my landlord also wants my money) which play out in the political and economic spheres every day.



No, you want a place to sleep and your landlord wants money. What you said doesn't even make sense.


If it were so, people wouldn't take rent amount into consideration when renting an apartment.
