An Australian world map shouldn’t have Greenland appear larger than Australia (which in reality is about 3.5 times the size of Greenland).

It's Mercator you know. We're just used to the distortions the other way up. :-)

I'm surprised they didn't just cut the northern hemisphere off at a lower latitude.

Not a vector map, but a highish-resolution of ODT's Hobo-Dyer Equal Area Projection [South at top]:

If you're going to post a link to a map, make it a vector map, this is horribly low res.

Looks like it's a commercial product, so I doubt you'll find a freely available svg.

Although it also looks like OpenStreetMap has both country-level boundary and name data, so it should be just a "simple matter of programming" to create one's own svg (assuming the ISO 3166 countries are to one's taste).

https://osm-boundaries.com/ might be an 'easy' way to get the boundaries already present in OpenStreetMap.

If you give me the search-fu for vector images, I'll do that next time I'm tempted.

(as is, GOOG's image search only offers me the options of "clip art" "line drawing" and "gif". Somehow I believe their definitions for those categories are likely not as technical as mine)

I believe you can add filetype:svg or something similar. I've used that in the past to retrieve PNG files.
