Show HN: Faster Internet for the Middle Class (github.com/muragekibicho)

I've got a 1000$ iPhone and I'd prefer performing extra computations if it means I can open gmail in super slow internet.

Every byte counts when internet is slow. This repo finds header data and compresses it. If people are interested I'll add more features.

Contributions are welcome!

To get the best lowfi Gmail experience just use an email app. Leverage the async nature. But anyway… great project!

Why not run a VPN or proxy with compression on?

Thanks for the question! I'm already using a proxy.

This repo is all about the software running on the proxy server. We're finding extra bytes 7Zip may overlook. Each byte counts!

I guess I don't understand what this software does.

I imagine lossy compression on things like video could be cranked up further than YT might do. Or try more compressive algorithms.

Neat idea!

Thank you!
