Ask HN: How do you use GenAI for making your personal lives easy?

With the recent OpenAI dev day, I see the scope for Generative AI and LLMs exploding manifold and this pace of innovation is here to stay.

While I did spend a while playin with ChatGPT when it came out, lately I haven't spent much time with it. I was wondering how people used this for making their personal lives better. I do use an LLM at work for simplifying queries and Copilot to help me code but largely these are confined to work.

I'm looking for inspiration around things like making you tell better stories to your kids, or keeping track of your expenses in a more seamless way, helps you organize digital materials you have, help with learning and digesting material faster, keeping up with friends ... bringing order into the chaos that is life! :)

I personally would not use LLMs for text that is of import, particularly for something that's for children. LLM-induced text has a very weird flavor to it that, when ingested too often, leads to changing one's thought patterns to something that vaguely looks "Open"AI-approved. Use it for bare facts and some text-templating, but sparsely for the rest. It's the early days and no one will listen right now, but as it is with excessive social media right now, it will be with LLMs in five years. You don't wanna be the guy so broken by a LLM he can't figure out he's speaking like one.
