Ask HN: How to run something like DDEV without admin rights on Windows?

Company IT departments are getting more strict regarding security and rights and Windows 11 too. For Web development WSL2 and docker based tools like Lando or DDEV are pretty good. But all these setups need admin rights and install stuff. Is there a way without admin rights?



If you already have WSL running then why not use the Linux installation steps of DDEV (instead of the windows one which requires running powershell in admin mode)?
