They have leagues of Harvard Math PhDs building “algorithms”. Behind closed doors is the founder or some guy you’ve never heard of making wild gut based trades on the market. This was how Pimco in its hay day operated. Billions in investment money can be managed by one person, with a legion of coders and support (“investment professionals”) standing by
