Love Atuin. Combined with VS Code tunnels, makes working on multiple machines pretty painless. Up there with ripgrep, fzf and z as one of the first things I install on a new machine.

If you'd like to synchronize your history via a server, yes

You can either use the hosted one, or host your own. Either way, it's e2e encrypted and nobody can see a thing.
