Disclaimer: I know next to nothing about 1960s cars :-D
Little is known about this concept, although the original Sunbeam Tiger is a popular classic V8 sports car that was designed by racing driver Carroll Shelby.
Maybe there's a connection? The rest of the rear looks nothing like it but the upper rear quarter-panel has a distinct notch shared by hardtops put on the AC Cobra (a.k.a. the Shelby Cobra) and the front of the car has Cobra-like "snout" and fenders.
This is total guesswork that smarter people could probably destroy in a heartbeat, but could it be a camouflaged prototype? The Cobra was prototyped (and being built at Thames Ditton) in early 1962 – https://www.supercars.net/blog/1962-ac-shelby-cobra-prototyp... – and the arches look oddly rough/plain in that photo. Could it be a prototype with the flared arches removed and a hardtop stuck on?
The Sun? Really? This should come with a NSFW link.
Also this just doesn't seem interesting at all. Is it really hard to believe someone made a car slightly different from mass produced models and that was caught on camera one time?
X has its problems but it is preferable to what is quite simply the most evil newspaper in Europe. Outing homosexuals, hacking phones, warmongering, Hillsborough, AIDS misinformation, the list goes on. I wouldn't wipe my arse with it.
