Amazon Employee Badge Swiping Service to Defeat RTO Mandate (reddit.com)

This sounds like a great way to get fired on the spot.

Especially since that would be considered as a security breach. Security badges aren't meant for someone else than the person it's assigned to.

Haha. I thought about swiping for others (for free) but dismissed it at another MAANG because it's easily mitigated company-wide by:

0. Facial recognition at entrances auditing badge swipes.

1. Correlating security system logs with network MAC addresses and Wi-Fi association activity.

2. Security guards may be tasked with auditing occupants.

While such may earn social kudos, practical responses would be to unionize and walk out until reasonable, specific demands are met. Failing that, find other employment.

Better idea would be mass cloning badges and flood checking in at multiple sites (it's amazing what unhappy engineers can build, especially if they are experience in aerials of remote access). Forced them to spend money researching a better system, meanwhile giving garbage results.

Definitely happening already, and should be. Nonsense policy deserves nonsense results.
