All of synthetic motor oil is a synthesis of components, individually chosen and assembled. It is an engineered product, as opposed to natural motor oil, which is a naturally-ocurring product that has been refined. Both being fossil fuel petrocarbons is neither here nor there — it’s not a claim made.
