Comp.sys.sinclair crap games competition (2021) (rickdangerous.co.uk)

My least favorite Sinclair computer game was Ram Pack Roulette for the ZX81. If you jiggle the 16k Ram pack, do you crash the computer and get to reload your work?

It came free with all ram pack purchases too!

The CSSCGC has run almost every year since 1996. I haven’t been able to take part this year, but the latest compo is always forwarded from https://csscgc.org

This is what the internet is for. This right here.

I wrote an even awful-er knockoff of the centipede game on my TS-1000. In BASIC. In 2k.

I can see the entrants have really gotten into the spirit of the thing (intentionally or otherwise).

The 2023 comp has opened: https://csscgc23.blogspot.com/

Any recommendations on a 48k Speccy emulator for linux? edit: and a 128k one please

Use FUSE. Or retro virtual machine for a fancier experience: https://retrovirtualmachine.org/

Thanks, I'll try a newer version of Fuse, 1.6.0 from the linux mint repos failed to run the two games I tried from this comp.

The world can always use more Cassette 50-like Game Jams - it's really productive to just create something, anything, without having to worry about whether it's good. Just make a game, it's liberating.

(Sidenote, as a Commodore 64-supremacist, I will point out that "Sinclair Crap Games" is unnecessary wordy, when just "Sinclair Games" would express the same meaning using one fewer word :P)

The fishing simulator is pretty funny. I like the veiled commentary on graphics capabilities.
